Summary Notes The Poison

This month in Quintessence Tribe, we are looking at the truth about therapies: how we actually help ourselves feel better by returning to reality, rather than trying to control, manipulate, or “transmute” physical conditions through delusion. The work of Q Tribe is to keep examining ideas, stripping out energy-wasting lies and distractions, and moving closer to the truth of how things actually work.

Last week, we looked at the myth of the cut: the belief that when something exists that we don’t like, we need to cut it out, burn it away, remove it, or destroy it. But when we apply “the cut” to desire, conflict, or symptoms, we don’t solve the real conflict and we spin off into lots more conflicts. The real work is not to cut away desire or biological conflict, but to integrate desire and not-desire into one whole being.

Today’s myth is the poison.

The poison is the belief that when there is a condition we don’t like, it must have been caused by an enemy, villain, malignancy, or invisible harmful force. In modern culture, “poison” means something “stealthy and undetectable:” microbes, toxins, carcinogens, allergens, pollutants, radiation, endocrine disruptors, mould, noise, shame, resentment, cynicism, negative energy, or “toxic people.” The list goes on almost forever because the cultural story keeps expanding: everything we don’t like becomes evidence of some invisible harmful force attacking us.

This is the same old magical thinking, just dressed up in modern scientific language. We no longer talk about curses and evil spirits; we talk about viruses, toxins, pollutants, and invisible threats.

(and in GNM it’s easy to imagine “conflicts” as poison in the form of events)

The core story is the same: something outside of me is making me sick.

Once we believe the problem is poison, the solution becomes obvious within that paradigm: fight the poison. Attack the villain. Cut away what has been damaged, then use a stronger poison to destroy the poison that harmed us. This is the drama triangle at the level of medicine: the body becomes the victim, the disease or toxin becomes the villain, and the treatment becomes the rescuer.

This is the foundation of much of the health industry: treatments that “fight” disease. Chemotherapy is understood as controlled poison. Antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, and many other treatments are based on the idea of selective toxicity: poison the unwanted thing more than the host. But the selectivity is never perfect, so the original “poison” and the treatment “poison” both become threats to the person.

This does not mean toxicity is not real. Real poisoning exists. Smoke can displace oxygen. Carbon monoxide can displace oxygen in hemoglobin. Lead can displace calcium. Cadmium can displace zinc. Cyanide can interfere with oxygen use in the mitochondria. Some substances or conditions can physically displace something the body needs, disrupt a process, or mislead the brain as to what’s “real.”

But poison doesn’t harm because it hates us. It has no intention. It isn’t an evil intelligence. It works through displacement, disruption, and entropy.

The deeper problem isn’t the physical substance itself. The deeper problem is the identity conflict we’re creating when we’re off trying to micromanage the universe because that’s the only way we can trust anything. Underneath that “in the wrong lane” identity problem is a self-devaluation conflict: “I cannot handle the world as it exists. My body, brain, and psyche are inadequate against the forces around me.”

The solution is not to live in fear, sanitize everything, fight every possible toxin, or poison the poison. Nor is it to hole up in a sanitized underground bunker for the rest of our lives.

The solution is to ask: What do I believe this poison is displacing?

Is it displacing safety? Breath? nourishment? sovereignty? truth? belonging? trust in the body? trust in God? trust in life?

That’s where the real work begins. The fear of poison isn’t solved by finding more enemies to fight. It is solved by resolving the conflict in the psyche and returning to the truth: your biology isn’t helpless, Nature isn’t stupid, and life isn’t organized around invisible villains trying to destroy us. For all the fluoride in the water, there is also a mountain stream a kid could still drink from with his hands.

For all the pesticides being sprayed across the fields, there is also a sunflower turning toward the sun without being told.

For all the geoengineering overhead, there is also a thunderstorm rolling in like the voice of God.

For all the synthetic food engineered to weaken you, there is also a peach in summer that tastes like nostalgia.

For all the propaganda piped through the screens, there is also a husband writing a song for his wife in a kitchen.

For all the algorithms designed to fragment you, there is also a conversation with a friend who has known you for twenty years.

For all the AI generating slop, there is also a child drawing her mother for the first time.

For all the music engineered to numb you, there is also a violin built by hand for a stranger not yet born.

For all the architecture of control, there is also a cathedral built over centuries by men who knew they would never see it finished.

For all the institutional lying, there is also a father telling his son the hard truth.

For all the trauma being inherited from your line, there is also a mother breaking the cycle in real time.

The culture wants you obsessed with what’s killing you.

The real work is staying obsessed with what’s keeping you alive.

Don’t let your attention become so completely captured by the poison that you forget the world is still aching with beauty.

Question: What if any is the biological purpose of a 90 year old man being able to impregnate a much younger woman? He most likely will not be able to take care of his “container” …..is there a biological purpose to this?

Answer: This gets to the heart of every special biological program. If every special biological program has a biological purpose, then every symptom has a biological purpose too, even when it feels bad or strange. The fifth biological law says everything that exists has a purpose, so the real question becomes: what is the biological purpose of this particular thing?

It’s a bit like asking, “What is the biological purpose of male nipples?”

Let’s break it down. A 90-year-old man can still impregnate a woman because he is male, and the reproductive function itself belongs largely to old-brain biology, with some new mesoderm involvement. Whether he can “take care of the container” afterward is a separate matter.

After all, no man is guaranteed to be around for 18 years. If ongoing paternal presence were biologically required for reproduction, then men with temporal lobe conflicts, men going to war, gay men, or any man at risk of dying suddenly would not be able to produce sperm.

Why would Nature allow a baby to be made by a man who could get hit by a bus ten minutes later? And why would Nature allow a woman to become pregnant by a man she barely knows, who may never provide care?

This exposes the “poison” mentality of our society: the belief that if something undesirable can happen, Nature must be making a mistake. We struggle to understand how a benevolent God or purposeful Nature could allow conditions that lead to suffering.

But a 90-year-old man being able to impregnate a younger woman is not inherently terrible. For him, it means he is alive, vital, and fully functioning biologically.

And in biology, especially outside our cultural indoctrination around aging, 90 is just a number. References
